WorkSafeBC announces that the average base rate for 2017 is dropping from 1.70% to 1.65% of employers' assessable payroll.

Creating the penny costs more than its actual value. To save money, the Government of Canada will no longer create new pennies. Current pennies can still be used as currency; however, most businesses will round up or down your receipt to decrease distribution of the penny.
